This year, April fell in the fall
And staying warm this winter won't matter at all
I've been cold all summer long
It rained gold on sapphire streets
And we played it cool as if we didn't need the heat
But we did
That's why we didn't mind as we set ourselves on fire

Once I watched a girl who lied on her back in a field with jewels for eyes

A dozen doves lied on their side to protest the sky
"We'll never fly again"
I penned notes on sheets when I coundn't sleep
And rolled around in those words until covered in ink
If you could see me now, you could read me now
I've been cursed with puzzles and poems,
Piecing each together, words to bring you home
